The Alice

If you look closely at the lace I used for this bra (a gift from Brabuilders, you can get your kit here) you’ll get why it’s called “Alice”. The small diamonds reminded me of the playing cards and I just thought, ha if it were hearts I could finally make a mean Queen of Hearts bra. Then I couldn’t remember if the soldiers in Alice in Wonderland had all the colors or just hearts… suddenly I noticed that the color scheme is just the same as Alice’s and there you are…

To give the lace center stage I used the Cambia Bra pattern from LilypaDesings and the Marie Panties by Evie La Luve.

The lace was a little narrower than my size would require but I just thought I’d try it anyway and see if I had enough support.

The rest of the bra was sewn up as per the instructions. I used a findings kit, microduoplex and powernet in the color “river” from BraBuilders and the colormatch for this lace was incredible!

So, how did the “shorter” lace fare? It did not affect the fit in the bra but just in case I placed two bartacks on each side (hidden inside the diamond shapes).

I am really really overjoyed with this set. It’s one of my favorite bras I have made so far.

Here are a few more detail shots for you. Enjoy!

This lace is so stunning!
